Spring has arrived at the creek, we’ve been busier than a bee in a new hive!  Be sure to visit our website often as new pieces are arriving this spring.

There’s a lot of changes happening here, We now have a new addition to our team!

Meet Brandy, She’ll be working on the fine bead work you’ll be seeing online soon.  Dana Jane & I are so excited to have her join the creek!

More updates and images from the foothills coming later this week….

Have a beautiful day!

Welcome back Dana Jane!

The Creek house has been blessed with the presence of Dana Jane once again.   Not only will we have Dana Jane but Mikaela & Brandy are at it as well.  I couldn’t do it without them.

Change seems to have been taking place for a long while, it’s finally showing it’s face around here!

January didn’t start off well, we lost another loved one which obviously set me back a while but I’m here and excited to share a couple of new pieces this week.

During this month of rememberance not only for our recent loss but our past loves who have embossed January as deep thought and growth.

“Brothers, Simes & Nee Nee”

We grow stronger each day with the grace of your love that inspires deeper roots from within this short time together.

One piece at a time, we create beauty from a burning desire to be set free.  Personal amulets shared from “Woman to Woman” with love.

The Creek house has been getting a little work done, it’s been five years since she’s been built, a little wear and tear from the weather therefore a little touch ups for this spring.  This winter’s abundant record rainfall damaged the vining roses and other beloved color surrounding the shop. You know what I’ll be doing this springtime, planting new flower beds and shrubbery. The Cecile Brunners were split like dry oak from the heavy rains, I hope the repair worked and those lovely vines share their fragrant roses once again.

We decided the tile counters needed to go, the new beefy wood Workbench has already warmed the studio. The wintery chill created an icebox affect which was challenging to work in.  The dampness from the creeks winter water flow penetrated the studio.  Looks like I’ll be on the hunt for some knee high shearlings pronto!

Creek jewelry will only be sold locally to Grace Jr. located in Chico, California & Nest of Paradise.  If there’s something you’ve seen here or on facebook but isn’t available on the website, please let me know and we’ll try our best to send that item to those two stores.

Cottage girls of Carmichael is the place to find unique one of a kind pieces.

Thank you for loving Creek wares, it is you who also bring inspiration to our world of creating.

Newness at the creek

I’m just not believing it’s almost December, where has time gone?  Silence has been golden at the creek house, the little tornado named “Lily” has disturbed the peace!  I’m raising an 8 month old, not sure I have the energy to keep up anymore.  This little red girl has come a long way since she was 8 weeks old and now has become an adolescent and pushes her luck quite often.

It’s the norm around here to see me chasing Lil down the hall or in the shop for that precious piece of leather I need for a bracelet, fishing a bead out of her mouth as if she were a child or thinking she found/conquered my stash of twigs for casting jewelry as if were her own.

Therefore I’m exhausted…

There’s plenty of newness making way, Several new items will be available on Monday November 19th and going forward.

If you’re in the Chico area, please stop by Grace Jr.s in downtown Chico for her holiday Trunk show.  I’ll be there with the new jewelry so stop in and say hi, I’d love meet you.

Stay tuned for more…

Sunshine, crunchy leaves and Mountain music!

Honestly, today is the first promise that the California heat is leaving for while, perhaps months.  The leaves from my favored shade tree have dried and  fallen, they’ll return in just 5 more months.

My mind will always have a sunny spring place, it’s not just sunny in Philadelphia, it’s sunny here too!

“Soul of a flower”

They really do have soul, they’re presented in birth, in death, weddings, anniversaries, birthdays and celebrations of many. When my brother passed, it was at that time I realized that flowers were comforting, they had blessed us with their beauty at a low time in our lives.  At that time, I had stamped everything I made with “Soul of a flower”, it was something I needed and wanted to do to make myself feel better.  It was a tribute to my brother.  Flowers will always be apart of creek jewelry design.

“The wild blossom” She’s off  to the editor of “Folk” for a possible photo shoot for this years holiday gift guide.

I’ve always loved music, It’s another avenue of self expression.  I’m  thoroughly enjoying learning the  Mountain dulcimer!

ps; Another artist who is very special to me shared this quote that she heard from another well known artist, well said my friend, well said, Thank you!

“It’s better to be copied than be the one who’s copying”

I like that!

Websites up

It’s been awhile, the fires are finally 100% contained, I’m grateful for the Firefighters who have endured the heat in addition to the thick smoke that’s lingered for over a month.

The website is back up, Yay!  Like a few, I don’t have a web design, developer etc.  It’s all me, and as I’ve told a many, I’m spread so thin I’m transparent.  I’m doing best in solitude for the time being, getting the creekhouse back in shape and getting the help that’s been long over due.  I’ll be adding pictures this week as time permits, for the time being I’m leaving with an image of the site.

Also, We’re going to be doing a Trunk show in downtown Chico this November/December at Grace Jr.   I’m looking so forward to being there once again.

More to come!

Journey on ~ The eastern Sierra’s

A soul filled journey to the high country in June Lake Loop, Silver Lake to be exact, the place that will forever be in my heart.  Words or pictures can’t reveal the beauty this place holds, you have to be there and experience it on your own.  It’s such an awesome place that Hollywood chose it to be in their new movie “Oblivion” starring Tom Cruise & Morgan Freeman.  They were there in the backdrop of my palette for the duration of my journey.  A little strange having my secret place invaded by the stars of Hollywood but in admittance, it was a little exciting to see the helicopter loaded with film dive overhead filming that beautiful lake capturing the first morning’s glass and marshy green glades with Carson peak in the background.

Hiking up the mountain in the Ansel Adam’s wilderness, we met up with several security guards and Park rangers who were warding off the paparazzi.  Little did they know “I” was a little Pap and ventured off to capture Tom Cruises cabin on the pond.  It wasn’t a close up but it was enough to get a glimpse of what’s to come.

Of course I brought work with me, I slowly filled orders between adventures, modified pieces while filling up the soul.  I love that place and will return once again in October to see the last dance of that Aspen that I so love while in their golden state.

The “Kanook” sak

Dog poo bag… a must have!  Has a little pocket for your bio bags.

coming soon to wildpeas.etsy.com

The days were filled with fishing, hiking, kayaking, bike riding and a little respite.  I’m full and have filled my cup once again

Silver Lake

Lily’s chariot

My beloved Aspen tree’s

Lily’s first Kayak ride, she did great and loved her new life jacket

A park ranger looking for Paparazzi

A day hike up the Ansel Adams wilderness trail at Silver Lake, Lily was exhausted so guess who carried her?

John enjoying the waters… Tom Cruise was filming at that moment directly where John was headed.  See the security guy on that little mound of trees? Look for the white spot on the hill.

Sorry about the name on the pic, I have to protect it  = – )  I hiked a long way to get this image! Tom’s cabin is under the e & n on Christensen. There’s a pond in front of his cabin, when you see the movie you’ll at least have an idea of the country! The brown thing on the rocks is the security box, two people stood watch while filming.

Wildness on the Ansel Adams trail

Ducks left a gift that will be added to the forbidden feather collection

Silver Lake boat house, I collect the shingles every year that blew off during the high winds.  They’re historic.

Danielle paddle boarding with “Lola”

A trout in the pond

My brothers Memorial rock, his ashes were tossed off of the mountain which is about 8,000 feet up. It’s always a special hike when our family hikes up and quietly remember his presence.

This special resort has been a ritual for our family for over 60 years. My Grandfather and his fellow City of Anaheim fishermen buddies found this place 60-70 years ago.

Thank you Pappy for showing your Grandchildren the beauty of the Eastern Sierra’s that we all so much love and appreciate!

Missing my little brother endlessly

Morning loves with the little Lil, I think I’m falling in love with her!

She’s becoming my little shadow that I seem to trip over quite often.

An afternoon walk along the lake

Random fishermen, I’m taken in by other people.  They always make pictures fun to take.

This little guy climbed up my spokes just to try and get the little bit of food left behind from Lily’s bike rides.

He didn’t get any!

At the beginning of the trail, this is great cardio… really!

Another random person I found interesting.  A Grandfather and his Grandson fishing at Grant Lake in the evening.

I loved his pipe.

“Lola” we wore her out

“Lily” the calm after her storm.  Right before this picture she was tearing it up! She even lost her first tooth which I found in the sand.

Danielle just arrived to Silver Lake, I was telling her about the Coyote that she just missed as she pulled up.  He ran out behind her car, close call…. very close.

The horses headed up to Agnew or Gem Lakes, probably further.

A sticker posted on the side of a dumpster, High country politics!

“Yeti” and I with the Lil

Creeks namesake… Aspen that was my original logo for “At fallen leaf creek”.

A great morning of fishing on Silver & the Lil sporting her new life jacket.

Random kids on the dock, they were so cute!

The great news, I’ll be selling my jewelry and “Wild peas” fabric bags at Fern creek lodge this next season.  It’s a place I worked for a summer as a teen.  I hear the remaking of “It’s a beautiful life” will be filmed right in the Lodge, oh joy!

The not so great news, we returned to find that every single seedling of Arugula, Radish, Beet, Spinach, Broccoli, and Carrot was gone.  The birds or bugs got to them so I won’t be planting foods of such down on the lower half of the property.  Before leaving I planted and over abundance of watermelon and cucumbers which are ready to be transplanted and will fill the spaces of my twice planted salad selection.  Darnit anyway!

I’ll be adding more pictures to this posting as I find the time to edit and upload.

More to come so please, check back this week!

Some things are best when left unsaid SO….

Here ya go, pics of the garden, the Lil and a couple of new jewelry pieces.  Am I really supposed to be doing this? I mean making jewelry, is this my calling OR am I supposed to be doing something else?  I seem to be in a funny spot, This girl is over loaded and really disliking this feeling of pressure, but then there’s the thing I do outdoors every single day (that would be tending to the yard, a big one) and even wonder if I really enjoy doing that anymore… what the heck is wrong with me?

I’m not candy coating this crazy mind, life, dream… it is what it is and I’m slipping steadily, “Someone, can you please pop this cork and fast”?????

“She’s ready to blow”

I’ve moved into new office space, smaller and easier to find things than it was before, it’s cooler than the creek house and I’m certain will be warmer in the winter.  I’m happy here, it looks like everyone migrates to my new little cubby, *smiles.

A little display

The new chair ( was supposed to go out in the yard ) hee hee

A vintage trash can, I love this thing… Seems I dig in it for lost things all the time.

Something special

*The Garden

If I were a true farmer, my family would most likely die from malnutrition.  If it weren’t for the acorns they would surely parish.  I managed to neglect the garden after I found the crickets munching on our future food.  I’m sticking to my guns though, No pesicides, ever!  Next year I come up with a new plan, maybe start the newbies in pots rather than sow the seeds straight into their new home.

* The Lil

Where can I start?  She’s a joy, a pain, feisty, a potty machine, a terror and adorable.  She’s never filling Simes place, he was a one of a kind friend and forever will leave a heavy place in my heart a giant hole rather.  Lil seems to play hard and sleep even harder.

The life of a pup

Can you say “Trouble”????

She’s getting snappy with me

Boy… It sure appears you have a rough life Lil!

*New jewelry

Custom orders are being re-thought as well as requests to re-make what I’ve made in the past.  Sure, I can make it again but can I make it in time???  No, I seem to have this luck of multiple requests at the same time and then make all sorts of promises that I can’t keep.  I’m sorry, I just have a lot of things transpiring at once.  One day soon I hope, I’ll get this shop in tip top shape and fire things off in the mail as soon as I get an order but while I’m working alone while holding the fort down, the song remains the same.

A new little handmade jewelry pouch

A long awaited custom order… Thank you M!

Better days ahead!
